Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules for using the LakGPT private beta.

1. The service

LakGPT is developed, maintained and operated by the Saffron team. The beta provides general AI assistance, public Sri Lankan knowledge and selected file-analysis features. Features, limits and availability may change.

2. AI limitations

LakGPT is AI and can make mistakes. Always check important information before relying on it.

LakGPT may produce inaccurate, incomplete or outdated content. It is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, accounting or other expert advice.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

You are responsible for your account and password. Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, bypass limits, disrupt infrastructure, upload unlawful material or use LakGPT to harm others.

4. Your content

You must have the right to submit your questions and attachments. Do not upload secrets or third-party confidential information unless you are authorised to do so. Private ERP and tenant data must use an approved private business integration—not public chat.

5. Beta availability

The beta is provided on an “as available” basis and may be interrupted, changed or discontinued. We do not promise that every response or feature will be error-free or continuously available.

6. Suspension

Access may be limited or suspended for abuse, security risks, unlawful use or violation of these terms.

7. Contact and changes

Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page. Before a paid launch, these terms should be reviewed by qualified Sri Lankan legal counsel and updated with the operator’s formal business and contact details.

How LakGPT handles tester accounts, conversations and private attachments.

1. Information we process

We process account details, authentication data, questions, answers, usage counts and conversation history needed to operate the beta. Passwords are stored as secure hashes rather than readable passwords.

2. Attachments

PDFs and images are user-scoped and processed only to answer the associated question. They are not indexed into public RAG or used for public training. Temporary attachment files are deleted after the question is processed. Scanned PDFs without readable text may not work.

3. Public and private separation

LakGPT’s public knowledge base contains only reviewed public, tenant-neutral material. Private ERP, customer, employee and tenant information must remain in separately authorised systems with strict tenant isolation.

4. Why information is used

Information is used to authenticate users, provide answers, enforce beta limits, maintain private history, secure the service and diagnose operational problems.

5. Retention and security

Tester account and chat history remain on persistent operational storage until a deletion process is provided or the beta retention policy changes. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. AI processing and transfers

LakGPT currently processes model requests on infrastructure operated for the Saffron team. Before commercial launch, this policy should identify all subprocessors, hosting regions, retention periods, user rights and formal contact details.

7. Your choices

Do not submit information you are not authorised to share. A formal account export and deletion workflow will be added before broad commercial availability.

LakGPT is currently a free private beta and does not collect subscription payments.

Current tester access is provided without a subscription charge. Usage limits may apply.

2. Future paid plans

Before paid subscriptions launch, this policy will be updated with prices, billing cycles, cancellation timing, renewal terms, refund eligibility, payment-gateway procedures and required consumer protections.

3. Unauthorised or incorrect charges

If payments are introduced and you believe a charge is unauthorised or incorrect, contact the published billing support channel promptly. Do not post payment credentials in LakGPT chat.

4. Legal review

The commercial refund policy must be reviewed against applicable Sri Lankan consumer, electronic transaction, tax and payment rules before accepting money.
